The award of scholarships in each academic period is given to an exemplary group of individuals who advance the exceptional ethics and qualities that Leah possessed and inspired in others.

The Board of Directors rates the applicants on criteria aligned with the foundation's vision, "helping students transform their lives by achieving their goal of becoming a nurse and serving the communities they work in."

I am from Salina, Kansas, graduated from Bennington High School in May 2022, and came to Kansas Wesleyan because of the welcoming and goal-driven staff. This year I am a junior in the nursing program. After graduation, I want to be a labor and delivery nurse and eventually get my MSN. I  will continue to live up to this wonderful, beloved woman's legacy!
