In Memory of Leah Reay

Leah was a beautiful soul who would wake up every morning with a smile on her face and joy in her heart.  She was the adventurous type who loved theme parks, bright colors, and rainbows.  Leah was also very studious, working diligently to achieve her BSN in May 2013.  

In July 2011, Leah and her high school sweetheart were married and shared a beautiful life together until one eve in January 2017 when our darling girl was taken from us by a drunk and drugged driver. Devastation sets in and life turns painful…

We decided to turn our pain into good works in Leah’s honor by starting this foundation in her name with the purpose of offering scholarships to juniors and seniors enrolled in nursing programs.

Memory of Me
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times, and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun, with all of the happy memories that I leave when my life is done.

in Honor of Leah
Leah Jean-Lacher Reay was just 26 years old when she was tragically killed by an impaired driver in January 2017.  This nursing scholarship has been established in her memory for all the hours of hard work she put in to her education to achieve her BSN from Kansas Wesleyan University in May of 2013.
